Welcome back from October Break, everyone! I hope you all had a restful, safe and fun time. As we settled in to our classroom routines again, we looked at how good writers take one small moment and describe in such detail that their reader can really picture it in their head.
We each picked our favourite moment from our holiday, no more than a couple of minutes, and described it. We focused on describing different senses to really transport the reader. The Lightning Leopards did great! Everyone was able to really narrow down their special moments to be as specific as possible, and everyone made an effort to incorporate some of the techniques we have been learning in class.
Finally, we had some students volunteer to read their small moment descriptions out loud to their classmates. There was some beautiful writing going on!
